A-Level mathematics is divided into six modules. There are four modules which look at algebra, functions, geometry, trigonometry, and differential and integral calculus. There are two modules which look at the applications of mathematics, and you can choose from: decision mathematics - the study of algorithms, graphs, and networks - statistics - the study of probability and data handling - and mechanics - the study of forces, energy, and motion. A-Level maths is an essential qualification for degree-level study in physics, engineering, computer programming, or economics.
